This is my first blog in Food Category. I made Coconut Burfi this Rakshabandhan for my sister as this is her one of the favorites sweet. I also like Coconut burfi as it has nuts which are healthy. I am not a sweet tooth, I least prefer sweets but this was a special occasion so I decided to make it.
As I said in my previous blog "How to Balance when...." how I substitute an unhealthy ingredient with healthy alternatives in any recipe. So in Coconut burfi, I replaced refined white sugar with Brown sugar, if you substitute it with Jaggery then it will be more beneficial for health and substituted normal unsalted butter with cow milk unsalted clarified butter which is simply ghee but made exclusively from cow milk cream at home. I think if you are health conscious but sweet tooth then coconut burfi is the best option you can go for without even second thought.
Health Benefit of Coconut Burfi:
Cow Ghee (Unsalted clarified butter): As per Ayurved, cow Ghee is very very good for health. Cow ghee is full of essential nutrients, fatty acids, antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidants, and antiviral properties It normalizes Vata and Pitta. Nourishes body. It is known as a brain tonic. Excellent for improving memory power and intelligence. Best for strengthening mental health. It is beneficial for curing thyroid dysfunction. It is used to heal wounds, chapped lips, and mouth ulcers. Cures insomnia. Best for lubrication of joint. But it should consume in moderation if you don't want to put on weight.
